Apexogenesis is a dental treatment that is performed on immature and vital permanent teeth. The objective of this treatment is to allow root growth and apical closure of the tooth.

Apexogenesis is performed on immature teeth with open apices that are affected by caries, trauma, or fractures with pulp exposure. Follow-up and clinical controls are recommended.

Guidelines for the management of traumatic dental injuries in the primary dentition

Dental traumas in pediatric patients represent 18% of all injuries and that is due to the activities of children, and they occur more frequently when they learn to crawl, walk or run.

The lesions can compromise dental tissue (enamel, dentin, root), dental pulp, alveolar bone, and periodontal ligaments. Soft tissues such as lips and cheeks are also included.

Caso Clínico: Manejo de intrusión dental en dentición primaria

Intrusión Dental en dentición primaria. Protocolo de actuación. Caso Clínico

La intrusión dental es un tipo de traumatismo que afecta gravemente al hueso alveolar y a los tejidos periodontales. En el caso de presentarse esta lesión en dentición primaria debemos sumar el daño al germen del diente permanente en desarrollo.

El tratamiento dependerá de la severidad de la lesión, y para eso se necesita una correcta evaluación por parte del profesional. El objetivo del tratamiento debe ser la disminución de las complicaciones post traumáticas.
