Severe early childhood caries: an integral approach

It is considered early childhood caries, when the carious process affects one or more primary teeth in children under 06 years of age. This infection is of multifactorial etiology, transmissible and of rapid development.

Treatment will depend on the extent of the injuries and requires interdisciplinary management to achieve successful rehabilitation. In these cases the cooperation of the parents is necessary.

Pulp Cap and Pulpotomy in Pediatric Trauma Cases

Dental trauma can affect the tooth at different levels, even leading to the total loss of the tooth. When the trauma affects the dental pulp, the case should be evaluated to determine what treatment should be performed.

When the dental pulp is compromised by a lesion, a pulpectomy, pulpotomy or pulp capping can be performed. The objective of these treatments is to keep the primary tooth in the mouth.

Reimplantation of avulsed permanent teeth after three days: Clinical case in a pediatric patient

Dental avulsion consists of the total detachment of the tooth from the socket, as a consequence of a strong trauma that affects the oral cavity. Given this urgency, it is important to go to the dentist to be able to reimplant it.

By means of dental reimplantation, the avulsed tooth is inserted into its socket, and then a clinical and radiographic follow-up is carried out in order to ensure the success of the treatment.
