Why do Dentists take X-Rays?

Dental X-rays are very important for diagnosis and treatment. The clinical examination evaluates the hard (teeth) and soft tissues (gums, cheeks) of the oral cavity, but thanks to the X-rays we can see if there are any changes that are not visible.

There are several types of radiographs such as periapical, bitewing, occlusal, panoramic and lateral. The dentist will resort to one of them if he considers it convenient for the diagnosis.
